Obligatory new car post

By · Comments (0)

It really does seem that everytime i get a new car, I stick a post up on SE about it… so why break the habit of a life time?

In the past year I haven’t really settled car wise… I’ve had two s14′s, a 180sx, a huge Mercedes and now im in this; a BMW e30!

The idea behind this one was to keep it as simple as possible. 2.5, straight 6. Fully drift preped, from Hydro to cage, it was like a ‘get in and go’ skid car. Rarely do plans like this actually work..however I can say with some conviction that this one hasn’t completly gone to pot.

First mod? A Status Error Sticker…Thank you please!

A couple of weeks into owning it I was at Norfolk Arena, giving the car a thorough shake down, identifying issues and generally having a right giggle. It was wet… VERY wet. And if any of you have ever visted Norfolk, you’ll know it gets pretty muddy too!

Needless to say, after nearly a full day of sideways fun, the car was brown… check out the photo below… ‘why is the window clean’ you ask… Because it was down all day. The inside was as caked as the outside! It’s taken 3 power washes and £20 to clean it and I’m still finding mud now!

All in all though, an awesome day was had. It’s clear I am going to have to get a better clutch soon and perhaps a steering rack that isn’t 4 turns lock to lock ( failing that, get down the gym and start working on my arms!)…also, the fact I had to sit on two folded up coats to get comfy has highlighted the fact I need a better seat ( something I have actually sorted already!)

I will keep you all up to date as and when anything interesting happens! Never has the phrase ‘Keep Drifting Fun’ been so appropiate!

Toyota 2000GT

By · Comments (0)

Photo’s courtesy of Dylan Leff.

The Toyota 2000GT is a thing of beauty, a living legend, and an all time classic from the Toyota factories (actually the car was made by Yamaha) of the late 1960′s.

Only 357 were thought to have been produced, and most of them were spread throughout the world, meaning no country has an abundance.

Either a 2.0 or 2.3 straight six producing around 150bhp was used, more than enough for the 2000GT’s sleek & slim form factor.

The 2000GT is virtually a bumperless car, and it is extremely low. These being the standout styling features of the car, aimed to compete with Italian and German supercars of the era, such as Porsche and Ferrari.

If you can find one of these 2000GT’s for sale today, expect to pay upwards of £240k for one, so in the price band of hypercars, but you do get to own a timeless icon.

I must thank Dylan Leff again for letting me use the pictures, they are truly stunning.

Make sure you check out more of his work, as it is breathtaking.
